Neck in neck the entire game, the girls were able to come out on top despite St. Joseph\u2019s several attempts to come back.<\/p>\n<p>The girls started the first half strong with an incredible goal from Emily Uus in the first 32 seconds of the game. Uus won the draw and was pushed to the ground so she was given the ball at the 50. Uus then ran all the way down the field and scored, giving her team an incredibly early lead.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Emily Tinnesz said, \u201cSt. Joes was totally shocked and it definitely knocked them off their block. This got out whole team pumped and we knew we could win this game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the first half, the team had a secure lead at 8-3. However, the girls kept up the intensity throughout the second half scoring nine more goals to put the final score at 17-13. Uus was key to this scoring seven of the 17 goals. In addition, Jen Becker put in four more with three more coming from Emma Moody, Avery Collins, and Emily Tinnesz.<\/p>\n<p>Jen Becker said, \u201cAt the beginning we all got really hyped together and coming together like a team like that makes us work better together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Key defensive plays came from Courtney Lynch and Avery Collins. Furthermore, Sophia Hopwood controlled six loose balls and had three draw controls. Uus finished with three loose balls controlled and two draw controls.<\/p>\n<p>Uus said, &#8220;St. Joes [has] always been a rival for us, like every other sport, so being able to come out with a win was really nice. Every girl worked really hard and had amazing plays, and as a team we all communicated and cheered each other on.
