From March 17th-20th, Trumbull\u00a0High put on
\ntheir production\u00a0of\u00a0the Tony Award Winning
\nmusical\u00a0How to Succeed in Business\u00a0Without
\nReally Trying.\u00a0The show featured Michael
\nLepore,\u00a0a senior\u00a0and\u00a0two-time winner of the CT\u00a0High School
\nMusic\u00a0Theater\u00a0Award\u00a0for\u00a0Outstanding Supporting Actor,\u00a0as the
\nleading\u00a0man, J.\u00a0Pierrepont\u00a0Finch. He was played opposite\u00a0Ava
\nGallo, who\u00a0assumed\u00a0the role\u00a0of\u00a0Rosemary\u00a0Pilkington.<\/p>\n

The plot followed Finch\u2019s plan\u00a0to climb to the top of the corporate
\nladder at World Wide Wickets\u00a0with minimal effort, as well as\u00a0Rosemary\u2019s
\nplan to marry Finch.\u00a0Along the way they encountered\u00a0friends such as J.B.
\nBiggley\u00a0(Zac Gottschall), the president of\u00a0the company, Smitty (Katherine
\nGriffin), Mr. Bratt (Jack Leonard),\u00a0Mr. Twimble (Matt Buckwald),
\nHedy LaRue (Alex Luft), and Miss\u00a0Jones, played by freshman Jackie
\nMate. Finch\u2019s main rival was Bud\u00a0Frump, Biggley\u2019s nephew, who
\nwas played by freshman Harrison\u00a0Gilberti.<\/p>\n

This show marked the end\u00a0of an era for much of the cast, as\u00a0most of the
\nTHeSpians will not be\u00a0studying theatre in college. Matt\u00a0Buckwald said,
\n\u201cLeaving THS\u00a0theater is bittersweet. I\u2019ve grown\u00a0to love many of the people
\nI\u2019ve\u00a0met, but training in this program\u00a0has prepared me for bigger and
\nbetter things.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, How to Succeed was\u00a0the beginning of something great
\nfor many other cast members.\u00a0Harrison Gilberti, who experienced
\nhis debut on the THS mainstage,\u00a0said, \u201cI was beyond happy and
\nso excited to be in my first THS\u00a0performance. I had been looking
\nforward to it all year.\u201d<\/p>\n

This production was a huge\u00a0success from a behind-the-scenes\u00a0perspective
\nas well. THS sets get\u00a0bigger and more involved every\u00a0year, and crew
\nmembers learned\u00a0about all sorts of new technology\u00a0and building techniques
\nwhen\u00a0creating the set and props for H2$.\u00a0This year, the production also
\nincluded a lobby design featuring\u00a0a mock mailroom, a boutique,
\na bookshop, and other displays\u00a0focused on the theme of success.<\/p>\n

Mia McKinney, a sophomore\u00a0who will be taking on the role of
\nstage manager next year, said,\u00a0\u201cI learned that when so many\u00a0people come together to make
\nsomething, it really binds them\u00a0together because everyone is
\nworking toward a collective goal.\u00a0During H2$, every person had a
\ndifferent but specific role to play on\u00a0and off the stage, and all of them
\nare equally important.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whether How to Succeed wasa first or last experience with THS
\ntheater, no one could argue with\u00a0the fact that the thespians put on
\nyet another fantastic show<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
