Over the course of four days, club members were tested on a variety of scholastic skills and subjects in a culmination of their year long study of World War II. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The club landed on Wednesday night, knowing that their biggest challenge of the year was just hours away from starting. Despite a majority of their agenda was taking exams, Junior Viraj Dongaonkar notes that the purpose of the competition exceeds just the testing room. \u201cWhile one may say taking a bunch of test is not the most fun thing in the world, Academic Decathlon is much more than that\u201d, said Dongaonkar. \u201cI got to visit the beautiful city of Madison, WI and meet all sorts of new people.\u201d<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yet the greatness of the trip did not stop there for the junior, as he would come home with the silver medal for his individual performance in the interview section. Commenting on his win, Dongaonkar recalled the moment he got the news. \u201cI was in the van on the way to the Milwaukee airport when I found out that I had one a medal on the Interview competition. It was great to know that my hard work had paid off and that I was able to represent my school in this National competition.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the 2017 Nationals behind them, the team is set to look towards the future for their next run at Nationals. As Captain Daejah Woolery stated, \u201cNext year the topic is a big one: Africa!
