\"\"<\/a>From Billie Eilish breaking the record of being the youngest artist to win all three major awards in one night to stars honoring the late Kobe Bryant through song and speech, the 62nd GRAMMY Awards were full of excitement, tears, and breathtaking moments.<\/p>\n

Starting off the night, host Alicia Keys began: \u201cWe\u2019d never imagined in a million years we\u2019d have to start the show like this,\u201d referring to Kobe Bryant, a former NBA legend, who died earlier that day in a tragic plane crash along with his 13 year old daughter Gianna. In addition, to a beautiful remembrance song sung by Alicia Keys and Boyz II Men, many other stars recognized the death of an amazing basketball player and man.<\/p>\n

Lizzo opened the show by singing two of her hit songs \u201cCuz I Love You\u201d and \u201cTruth Hurts.\u201d She had the whole audience in applause and singing along to her incredibly catchy songs. Lizzo took away three awards that night; Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, and Best Urban Contemporary. She won three of her eight nominations.<\/p>\n

Throughout the night there were many more amazing performances especially when Demi Lovato took the stage for the first time since her drug overdose in 2018 performing her debut single \u201cAnyone.\u201d Her extremely emotional performance had the room in tears and applauding her moving comeback.

\nAlong with Alicia Keys\u2019 moving tribute, she also sang an entertaining song about the importance of music in our lives, the GRAMMY\u2019s, and the incredible stars in our era of music to the tune of Lewis Capaldi\u2019s \u201cSomeone You Loved.\u201d While talking to the audience and getting them into the music, it was a great performance to really kick start the night of entertainment.<\/p>\n

Another incredible act came from Camila Cabello who sang her new song \u201cFirst Man,\u201d which was about her father. Home videos played on the stage and she had her father choked up as she came down to him, holding his hand and singing from the heart.<\/p>\n

Ariana Grande did not let down with her phenomenal presentation of \u201cImagine\u201d and \u201c7 Rings\u201d with a little snippet of \u201cMy Favorite Things.\u201d Finishing off, she sang her hit song \u201cThank U, Next.\u201d Although she had many nominations, Ariana did not take home any awards that night.<\/p>\n

The real winner and record breaking performer of the night was Billie Eilish who won five awards, four of which were the biggest awards including Best New Artist, Song and Album of the Year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not one to watch awards shows but I think this year was really special,\u201d said Trumbull High student Neya Kidambi. \u201cI was so excited to see Billie win because I think she really deserves it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Along with her incredible wins, she gave a stunning performance of her song \u201cWhen the Party\u2019s Over\u201d with her brother and writing partner Finneas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
