\"\"<\/a>After having strict limitations on spectators at basketball games last season, Trumbull supporters and especially the Black Hole, were able to fill the stands for the boy’s first home game. The energy was electric and the stands were roaring; this made for an exciting opening night for the Trumbull boys basketball team.<\/span><\/p>\n

With losing a total of nine players from last season, there are tons of new faces. A lot of young talent exists within this team and there are hopes of success. The two senior captains Connor Johnston and Ray Vicente have led the team for the past two weeks and came prepared to get their season started against the Masuk High School Panthers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For the entirety of the game, Trumbull had the lead and was consistently getting shots up. Junior Luca Antonio led the team in points with a total of 13. Sophomore Brandon Fowler trailed right behind him with 12 points. Senior Ray Vicente scored 11 points, senior Connor Johnston with 9, and junior Sean Racette 8.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was great to be out there again with the team, our chemistry was good and we all worked hard as a team to get the win,\u201d said Antonio.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Eagles beat the Panthers 60-49 on Thursday, December 16.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This past Saturday, December 18, the Eagles traveled to Amity High School to play the Spartans for their second game of the season. In a hard-fought game with many ups and downs, Trumbull lost 52-59. It is still very early into the season and the Eagles hope to get back on track in their game against Harding on Wednesday, December 22.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
