Every girl on these teams has been preparing throughout the summer for soccer. With long runs, workouts, and cardio, every girl deserves applause. All teams this year have been successful individually, showing that Trumbull soccer girls have been on fire. Although some teams are small, all are mighty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year&#8217;s Freshman Team consists of seventeen girls. So far, they have won almost every game, with the exception of one loss and one tie. The freshman team has no cuts, making it available for every incoming freshman.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Freshman Ella Grenier recommends this team \u201cbecause you\u2019re able to develop good teamwork skills, and it allows you to stay healthy throughout the year&#8221;. Being a freshman can be challenging, but Grenier \u201cloves(s) being able to do a sport with (her) friends and have fun together as a team.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Freshman team is excellent for anyone wanting to make new friends and participate in something successful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The JV team takes influential players from each grade level and is \u201cmade up of a great group of girls who always work hard\u201d, according to sophomore Jane Shannon, a member of the JV team. This team is a smaller one consisting of only fourteen girls. The JV team is working to improve their record of six wins and one loss.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Shannon, communication is essential for their team on the field. \u201cThe connection between the players and our coach is unique, which helps&#8221;, she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What also helps the JV team is focusing during practices on \u201cpossession and quick passes through the middle&#8221;. They also have \u201cbeen working to improve on our finishing into the corners of the goal and off of set pieces,\u201d says Shannon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The JV is full of many talented girls this year. The center midfielders \u201chave worked hard to switch the field and cover the sides and the defensive line has been very strong,\u201d according to Shannon. \u201c(Forwards) have worked so hard to score goals and (goalie Ellie Lehman) \u201chas done a great job to protect the goal and improve our record.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This team is very strong, and Shannon is passionate about their team and \u201chope(s) (they) continue to get better as a team throughout the season.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last but not least, this year\u2019s varsity team has been doing a great job with twenty-six girls and a standing of five wins, one loss, and three ties.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What makes this team so good is the drills they do during practice. \u201cWhether it is passing drills, running, working on set pieces, or possession all girls try their best&#8221;, says junior Lyla Petitti of the varsity team. &#8220;These girls stay extremely fit for the games and overall drills that have benefitted everyone\u2019s play this season.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;(They have) such a close bond helping to our success this season and create such an amazing environment&#8221;, Petitti said. \u201cThe talent everyone has is insane, and it\u2019s so exciting to see how much we improve each day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0(This is) \u201ctruly such an amazing team to be a part of\u201d, says Petitti.\u00a0 \u201cEach touch on the ball we take is just more practice to help us grow as a team!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The talent this year on every team is shown, and as a school, we wish each team luck to improve throughout the year.
