Highlights from a Week of Chic Events, Exclusive Shows, and Trendsetting Moments<\/b><\/p>\n

Throughout the week of Fri, Sep 6, 2024 \u2013 Wed, Sep 11, 2024, New York becomes the center of attention to all fashion enthusiasts, as they host their biannual Fashion Week. Held twice a year, in September and in February, designers showcase their new collections through pop-up events, exclusive runway shows, and eye capturing outfits.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the many events that go on during Fashion week, some that went on over this week were a cool outdoor pop-up sale from <\/span>Kendra Scott<\/span><\/i>, on September 7 at the Avenue East Cobb for their \u201cShine Bright Do Good\u201d<\/span> event. The first 100 shoppers were given a complimentary necklace. Plus, 20% of all purchases were donated to Cobb Collaborative, a charitable initiative. Prada also made its appearance with a Virtual Flower Lab to shine light onto their most recent fragrance launch. From September 6-8 at 525 W 24th St,\u00a0 the experience offered a Prada Beauty touch-up, an olfactive discovery room, and gorgeous floral offerings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Runway shows are the biggest part of Fashion week, with shows happening every day. While the majority of these are invite only, they showcase a diverse array of brands, big and small, ranging from uprising designers to brands like Off-White and Coach.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

New York Fashion Week isn’t just about runway shows though; it has a significant cultural and economic impact on the city. Each season, thousands of visitors, from influencers and celebrities, to buyers and media, go to the city, which generates millions in revenue for local businesses. Restaurants, hotels, and boutiques see a raise in activity, while the fashion industry itself benefits from the increased exposure and networking opportunities. This infusion of creativity, commerce, and culture makes Fashion Week an important event, not just for the fashion industry but also for New York’s broader economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

For many out there, Fashion Week is more than just the runway; it is an opportunity for people to dress in whatever way they feel, with the hopes of potentially being scouted. Although NYFW features fewer major designers compared to the fashion weeks hosted in Milan, Paris, or London, it still consistently shows unforgettable looks. This year, Bach Mai\u2019s collection showed out with vibrant maximalist dresses, while on the other hand, Alexander Wang surprised with more simple outfits, unlike his usual designs–though they still captivated the audience.<\/span><\/p>\n
