Get your pride on Eagles! It is Trumbull spirit week!! And you know what that means\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

SPONSOR A SENIOR DAY!! Now, if you have participated in sponsor a senior day before, then you understand that there is truly no greater happiness than dressing your much older and more mature upperclassmen friend in a ridiculous outfit and forcing them to accompany you to each of your classes as you walk in as the coolest pair of bozos this school has ever seen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Needless to say, it is a delightful experience for both sides and as much as your friend does not want to wear that hot dog costume to school, you know that he has no choice either way\u2026just kidding but still!<\/span><\/p>\n

SAS day is easily one of the most interesting traditions that has stood the test of time at this school for years upon years. With that being said, SAS does not come without a few rules and limitations. As fun as it may be to walk through the hallways in your costume while everyone daps you up, seniors are still required to make it to all classes no more than 3 minutes late.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, they are not allowed to leave any earlier than 3 minutes before the end of class to collect their sponsor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, while this should serve as an obvious point, underclassmen are unfortunately not allowed to dress up. That privilege is reserved specifically for the senior being sponsored, so as passionate as your desire is to twin Perry the Platypus costumes with your brother, you must resist.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adding on to the subject of costumes, the school will allow RELATIVELY school-friendly dress-ups. However, they will not tolerate any costumes advertising inappropriate messages or outfits that promote discrimination or prejudice against different minority groups or communities. <\/span><\/p>\n

With that in mind, there are plenty of hilarious and distinctive costumes out there that will make your friends laugh and giggle as you walk down the halls. Unique ideas from years past include: Movie characters or pop culture icons such as Marty McFly from Back To The Future<\/em> or Pete \u201cMaverick\u201d Mitchell from Top Gun<\/em>; Sports figures such as Tom Brady of the New England Patriots and David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox; or even obscure ensembles based on food such as hot dogs, hamburgers, and many many more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seeing as of the time this article is being released SAS registration is already over, for those of you who did not act quick enough I am afraid your hopes and dreams of sponsoring a senior are over. However, for those of you who are actively participating in the activity, make sure to make this a day that your fellow senior companion will never forget! Whether that be of means of embarrassment, torture, or general communal humiliation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just remember that every senior is in it together! For those of you seniors about to risk your social lives, we salute you!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
