Link Crew is such an important representation of the Trumbull High student body because it demonstrates leadership and the ability to connect and aid others. It is a club at Trumbull High that reflects effective communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and leadership skills. Specifically, Link Crew really focuses on creating an environment for the incoming freshmen each year so that they feel comfortable and welcomed at Trumbull High.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to the start of the 2025-2026 school year, Link Crew prepared an orientation day open to all of the incoming freshmen at Trumbull High. This consisted of two training days that involved Link Crew members coming to school early, and spending time practicing the engaging events the freshmen would partake in on the day of orientation. Not only were Link Crew members dedicated to learning how to go about the activities with the freshmen, but they were eager to make orientation fun.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every year for Link Crew orientation, each \u201cCrew\u201d typically has a theme. The leaders used lots of creativity when thinking of themes for their crews. For example, some crew themes included <\/span>Love Island<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Despicable Me<\/span><\/i>, safari animals, <\/span>Happy Gilmore<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Crayola <\/span><\/i>crayons, \u2018under the sea\u2019, and so on. These themes were very unique, and both the Link Crew leaders and freshmen had fun dressing up to match their theme at orientation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2025 freshmen orientation was a huge success thanks to the Link Crew leaders and the amazing freshmen who showed up. Each Crew got to know each other a little more, and as Link Crew leaders ourselves we hope that it made the first day of school a little easier for the freshmen, and the halls filled with more familiar faces. This is an amazing club to be a part of and we are so grateful for the experiences we have had, and we hope to make Trumbull High a better place for incoming freshmen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Link Crew helps to organize and run freshmen orientation every year, and hopefully for many years to come. Not only do the leaders help with orientation, but also with various volunteer opportunities throughout the school year. Just recently, some Link leaders went around to several freshmen classrooms and organized activities to engage the freshmen and connect with them while also connecting with each other.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Current sophomores & juniors can apply to become a part of Link Crew here at Trumbull High! It is a great experience and provides many opportunities to be a leader for the freshmen at THS. If you are interested, make sure to fill out the form and submit an application in the Spring. Let\u2019s make the 2026-2027 school year even better for the next class of incoming freshmen!<\/span><\/p>\n
