With the start of the new year comes a full year of exciting movie releases. From sci-fi to drama, there are many different ones to choose from this year. Let’s show you some of the ones stirring up the most excitement each month.<\/span><\/p>\n

January
\n<\/b>28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (1\/16\/26)
\n<\/b>This film directly follows the 2025 sequel, 28 Years Later, which was itself a continuation of the 2002 Cillian Murphy film. It begins right around where the last film ended, with main character Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) making a discovery that could change the world as they know it. As it has already been released, it has a score of 93% by critics on RottenTomatoes, along with an audience score of 88%. As well as being rated <\/span>R<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rip (1\/16\/26)
\n<\/b>Starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, this crime thriller follows a team of Miami cops as they discover millions of dollars in cash at a stash house. The teams’ trust in one another begins to deteriorate as those outside learn about the size of the cash they have seized. As it has already been released, it has a score of 80% among critics on Rotten Tomatoes, along with a less-than-favorable audience score of 64%. As well as being rated <\/span>R.<\/b><\/p>\n

Send Help (1\/30\/26)
\n<\/b>An upcoming film starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O\u2019Brien, it follows two coworkers who become the sole survivors of a plane crash and end up stranded on a deserted island together. In order to survive, they must navigate their relationship and work together. Even though it has yet to be released, this film has been rated <\/span>R<\/b>. As well,\u00a0 the pre-release screening reviews by critics are heavily positive, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94%.<\/span><\/p>\n

February
\n<\/b>Crime 101 (2\/13\/26)
\n<\/b>Starring Chris Hemsworth, this Los Angeles-set thriller, based on a novella, follows a thief who crosses paths with an insurance broker, in what he hopes will be his big break. However, there is a detective hot on his trail. While it has yet to be seen by critics, this film is rated <\/span>R<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wuthering Heights (2\/13\/26)
\n<\/b>An adaptation of the Emily Bront\u00eb novel, Wuthering Heights stars Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie (who also acts as a producer on the film). It follows the plot of the novel, which is about the turbulent relationship between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, the orphan her father brought home when he was young. Though unscored, it is rated <\/span>R<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scream 7 (2\/27\/26)
\n<\/b>Starring Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox, the seventh installment of the series sees Sidney Prescott in the crosshairs of Ghostface once again, as this time, her daughter becomes the new target. Sidney must face her past to end the bloodshed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

March
\n<\/b>The Bride! (3\/6\/26)<\/b>A remake of the 1935 film <\/span>Bride of Frankenstein<\/span><\/i>, it follows the story of a young woman who is murdered and then reborn again in 1930\u2019s Chicago at the hands of Frankenstein and Dr. Euphronius. She becomes not only Frankenstein\u2019s romantic partner but also serves a part in a social movement. Currently, it is rated <\/span>R<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoppers (3\/6\/26)
\n<\/b>With a star-studded cast including Meryl Streep, Bobby Moynihan, and Dave Franco, this movie follows an animal enthusiast who desperately wants to communicate with animals. In her effort, she transfers consciousness to a robot. Currently, it is rated <\/span>PG<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Project Hail Mary (3\/20\/26)
\n<\/b>Based on the novel by Andy Weir, this film follows Ryland Grace, played by Ryan Gosling, an astronaut who wakes up all alone in space, with no idea how he got there. As time passes, he starts remembering his mission and must figure out how to save Earth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

April
\n<\/b>The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (4\/1\/26)
\n<\/b>Following the events of the previous movie, this film, starring Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jack Black, follows Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach as they journey across the galaxy. Currently, it is rated <\/span>PG<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy (4\/17\/26)
\n<\/b>A new spin on the story of <\/span>The Mummy<\/span><\/i>, <\/i><\/b>this film starring Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Ver\u00f3nica Falc\u00f3n, follows a family whose lives are changed after discovering an ancient mummy, which sets off a life-threatening series of events.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michael (4\/24\/26)
\n<\/b>Starring Jaafar Jackson in the title role, this film will detail the life of music legend Michael Jackson. This upcoming biopic will showcase the hidden struggles that came with his global success. Currently, it is rated <\/span>PG-13<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

May
\n<\/b>The Devil Wears Prada 2 (5\/1\/26)
\n<\/b>Following the critical acclaim of the first movie (2006), Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep return to reprise their roles from the original film, along with Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, also joining them. The film will follow Miranda as she is up against her former employee, Emily, in a competition for advertising revenue amid the decline in print media.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mortal Kombat II (5\/15\/26)
\n<\/b>Though the 2021 reboot adaptation was not a massive hit, it had gained enough of a following to receive a sequel film. Nothing is known about the plot of the film so far, only that it directly follows the aftermath of the original. Currently, it is rated <\/span>R<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (5\/22\/26)
\n<\/b>Instead of a fourth season of the hit tv show <\/span>The Mandalorian<\/span><\/i>, Lucasfilm decided to turn the rest of the story into a movie. With Pedro Pascal reprising his role as Din Djarin, it follows the New Republic enlisting the help of Din Djarin and Grogu.<\/span><\/p>\n

June
\n<\/b>Masters of the Universe (6\/5\/26)
\n<\/b>Based on the cartoon <\/span>He-Man and the Masters of the Universe<\/span><\/i>, director Travis Knight brings the story to theaters in this new adaptation. It follows Prince Adam, who is abandoned on Earth and separated from his magical sword. When he grows up, he fulfills his destiny, becoming He-Man and fighting for his home planet, Eternia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Supergirl (6\/26\/26)
\n<\/b>Based on the 2021 comic <\/span>Woman of Tomorrow<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Supergirl<\/span><\/i>, produced by James Gunn and starring Milly Alcock, follows Kara as she travels the galaxy with her dog. However, upon visiting a planet on her birthday, she finds herself wrapped up in helping a young girl on her quest for revenge.<\/span><\/p>\n

July
\n<\/b>Moana (7\/10\/26)
\n<\/b>Starring Catherine Laga\u2019aia as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Disney returns with the live-action recreation of its hit film, <\/span>Moana<\/span><\/i>. The film follows the plot of the original animated movie, as Moana attempts to save her island.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Odyssey (7\/17\/26)
\n<\/b>An adaptation of Homer\u2019s epic poem <\/span>The Odyssey<\/span><\/i>, Christopher Nolan tells the story of Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, in the aftermath of the Trojan War. It follows him as he attempts to return home from his journey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Spider-Man: Brand New Day (7\/31\/26)
\n<\/b>Following the events of <\/span>Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/span><\/i>, Tom Holland returns to reprise his role as Peter Parker. Currently, not much is known about the film, although it is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who also directed <\/span>Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

September
\n<\/b>Resident Evil (9\/18\/26)
\n<\/b>Rebooting the franchise, this film, directed by Zach Cregger ,aims to stay true to the more survival-horror roots of the original game. Currently, nothing is known about the plot of the movie.<\/span><\/p>\n

October
\n<\/b>The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender (10\/9\/26)
\n<\/b>This animated film brings Toph, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko back to fans\u2019 screens, directed by Lauren Montgomery. Eric Nam and Dave Bautista are joining the cast; nothing is known about the plot of the film so far.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Street Fighter (10\/16\/26)
\n<\/b>Based on the iconic series started in 1987, Kitao Sakurai comes to direct this upcoming film. However, nothing is known about the plot or the members of the cast just yet.<\/span><\/p>\n

November
\n<\/b>Godzilla Minus Zero (11\/6\/26)
\n<\/b>Following the incredible success of its predecessor, <\/span>Godzilla Minus One <\/span><\/i>in 2023, director Takashi Yamazaki returns with a sequel continuing right where the last one left off. Unfortunately, we do not know what the plot of this film will be.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (11\/20\/26)
\n<\/b>Taking place between <\/span>The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes<\/span><\/i> and the original <\/span>Hunger Games <\/span><\/i>film, it shows the games of future mentor, Haymitch Abernathy. It follows him as he navigates his games and his eventual victory.<\/span><\/p>\n

December
\n<\/b>Jumanji 3 (12\/11\/26)
\n<\/b>Continuing the game’s story, director Jake Kasdan, as well as cast members Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan, return for their final appearance in the Jumanji series. So far, nothing is known about the plot of the movie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Avengers: Doomsday (12\/18\/26)
\n<\/b>Directed by the Russo brothers, the film will follow the Avengers as they prepare to face off against the iconic villain Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. So far, not much is known about its overall plot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dune: Messiah (12\/25\/26)
\n<\/b>Following the series created by Frank Herbert, the film will follow Paul Atreides, played by Timothee Chalamet, as the Padishah Emperor and the effects of his rule on his people. However, the cast has not been confirmed yet, though it can be assumed that Zendaya, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Florence Pugh will return to reprise their roles.<\/span><\/p>\n
