On May 14, 2015, over 100 Trumbull High students were formally inducted into the National Honor Society. This privilege is given to students who exhibit service, leadership, character and a minimum of a 3.85 GPA. Juniors are eligible of applying to this prestigious organization and ultimately become members during their senior year.

The ceremony began with the procession of the candidates onto the stage. As soon as everyone had reached their seats, current NHS president, Emily Uus, saluted the flag and welcomed the audience. She then introduced the next two speakers, Dr. Gary Cialfi and Mr. Marc Guarino.

Tennis Team Serving Up for States

It was very quiet around the Trumbull High School tennis courts. 17 of the 19 boys on the team were gathered around court 5, silently watching as seniors Lukas Kyc and Rohit Kandala took their turn at serves to solidify a win against Trinity Catholic. The crowd exploded as the final point was taken in their favor.

Last year, at Bunnell High School in Stratford, the boys tennis team suffered the most heartbreaking loss many of these players will have in their tennis career. After a hard effort throughout the season, the team was one win away from making the state tournament, but one obstacle stood in their way: the Bunnell Bulldogs.

Marketing Ed & DECA Compete in Orlando

The week of April 24-28th ten members of the THS Honors Marketing program made the trip to Orlando, FL to attend the Marketing International Career Development Conference (ICDC).  Three of these students (Lauren Ciulla, TJ Coughlin, and Kathleen Kauffman) were selected to attend a leadership academy and the remaining seven (Courtney Arison, Mark Curry, Stephen D’Amato, Brittany Kubicko, Jacob Robbins, Vlad Sychou, and Shravan Wadhwa) qualified at the state level to compete internationally. Over 15,000 student representatives from high schools throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Spain, China and Guam competed in marketing related events. The competition was extremely rigorous as it included both a written exam as well and a role play component.
