When I think of Valentine\u2019s day, I immediately think of chocolate and sweet pink treats. You can never go wrong with chocolate covered strawberries and heart-shaped sugar cookies. Short on time? Here are some delicious desserts that everyone will definitely enjoy!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recipe #1: Chocolate Covered Strawberries<a href=\"http:\/\/thseagleseye.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chocolate-strawberries.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-4172 size-thumbnail\" title=\"Photo courtesy of https:\/\/blog.banggood.com\" src=\"http:\/\/thseagleseye.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/chocolate-strawberries-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"chocolate strawberries\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ingredients: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">16 ounces of chocolate: white, milk, or dark chocolate<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 tablespoons of shortening\/butter<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 pound of strawberries<br \/>\n<\/span>Sprinkles (optional)<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crushed almonds\/peanuts (optional)<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ready in: 15 minutes <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instructions: <\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In a double boiler*, melt the chocolate and shortening\/butter, stirring occasionally. Keep stirring until the mixture is smooth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Using a toothpick, dip a strawberry into the mixture and set on a tray or plate lined with parchment paper. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Now it\u2019s time to decorate! Decorate using sprinkles or other toppings. You can also use any extra chocolate to drizzle onto the strawberries. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">*You can make a double boiler by placing a metal or heatproof bowl over a boiling point of water. Make sure that the bottom of the bowl is not touching the water.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recipe #2: Heart-shaped Sugar Cookies<a href=\"http:\/\/thseagleseye.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/heart-cookie.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4173 size-thumbnail\" title=\"Photo courtesy of http:\/\/sookiescookies.com\/cookie-catering-new-jersey\/ \" src=\"http:\/\/thseagleseye.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/heart-cookie-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"heart cookie\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ingredients: (courtesy of allrecipes.com)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 \u00bd cups butter, softened<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5 cups all purpose flour<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 teaspoons baking powder<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4 eggs<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 teaspoon vanilla extract<br \/>\n<\/span>2 cups white sugar<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Icing (optional)<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sprinkles (optional)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ready in: 30 minutes (excluding time for dough to chill)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instructions: <\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In a large bowl, mix together the butter and sugar until smooth. Then, beat in the eggs and vanilla. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Combine the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and salt) in a separate bowl. Once combined, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until fully mixed. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Cover the dough and place in the fridge to chill for about 1 hour (or overnight). <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it is around \u00bc to \u00bd inches thick. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out the cookies and place 1 inch apart on a tray lined with parchment paper. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Bake for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool completely. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Decorate!
