The Junior Cotillion will be held on Monday, November 6th, 2023 from 6:30-10pm at the Waterview in Monroe. Only Trumbull High School students may attend but dates from any grades are welcome.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cotillion originates from the eighteenth century debutante ball, so usually we see more long dresses than short.<\/span><\/p>\n

There will be a very autumn-inspired color pallet, consisting of many shades of reds, greens, browns, and deep blues. Warmer reds and copper tones flatter those with darker hair best, while lighter, blushier colors compliment blonde hair more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, we see many past trends coming back for a second go! Dresses with asymmetric ruffles and layers are trending right now if you are going for a flirtier look. However, if you want to make a statement, blazers with bold colors are taking over social media, with celebrities like <\/span>Victoria Beckham dressing them up with a fall staple– fishnet tights, or let the jacket do all the talking like Emily Ratajkowski and pair with a simple ankle boot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Compared to a few years ago, dance dresses have gotten much simpler. This can make the dress-finding process either easier or harder. While dresses still incorporate glitter, cut-outs, and deep v\u2019s, many dresses are made of a silk-like material and are usually plain. This gives the chance for your beauty to be the reason you stand out– not what you wear.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the day, wearing something that you are comfortable in that suits your style, is much more important than anyone else’s opinion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Like everything in life, Cotillion is what you make of it, so have fun and be safe!<\/span><\/p>\n
