\n<\/b>Azerbaijan is home to over half of the world\u2019s mud volcanoes, making it the most common location for them. Located mainly in the Gobustan National Park in the center of the country, these volcanoes are composed of both mud and methane, a flammable hydrocarbon. Once the mud reaches a certain temperature, the methane makes it erupt, resulting in big, smooth bubbles. Scientists have found similar volcanoes on Mars and often use the mud to treat rheumatism and skin diseases. Those interested may also travel to Pakistan, Eastern Russia, and Georgia to witness these explosions.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is home to several species of polyextremophile bacteria that secrete red and pink pigments, giving it its unique color. Views are only available by helicopter, and tourists are encouraged to also visit Hutt Lagoon, Lake Hart, Lake Eyre, Lake Bumbunga, and Lake MacDonnell, the other rose-colored lakes in Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pamukkale: Denizli, Turkey
\n<\/b>Discovered by Turkish King Eumenes II of Pergamon in 133 BC, this mountain is composed of dissolved calcium bicarbonate and contains many natural pools. In fact, <\/span>Pamukkale<\/span><\/i> is the Turkish translation of \u201ccotton castle.\u201d This pristinely white wonder formed when the remains of a spring fell over a cliff, leaving calcium deposits behind. These deposits eventually hardened to create the snow-colored crystal that makes up the basis of the mountain. There are many shelves and ridges that hold warm water for tourists to bathe and splash in, along with several waterfall terraces.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/b>Located on top of a marble peninsula along the coast of Lake General Carrera in Chile, calcium carbonate rock has been eroded to form these caves. The results feature intricate designs that clash against the water of the glacial lake. To visit the attraction, explorers must travel in ships containing at least 5 people. The more adventurous are given the opportunity to kayak through the cave system.<\/span><\/p>\n
