As the weather gets colder and the leaves begin to change colors, fall is the perfect time to grab a cozy blanket, a warm cup of tea, and find something new to watch. Whether you enjoy romantic dramas, supernatural mysteries, or classic Halloween movies, there is something for everyone to watch this season. From shows that are just perfect for a rainy day to movies that bring out the Halloween spirit, here are some recommendations to make your fall a little more entertaining.

For those who might enjoy drama, romance, and friendships, One Tree Hill is a show that is worth adding to your watchlist. It is set in a fictional town of Tree Hill, North Carolina, and follows two half brothers, Lucas and Nathan Scott, whose lives become increasingly connected through basketball, relationships, and family conflicts. With the show’s early 2000s nostalgia and storylines about growing up, the show is a good option for anyone looking for a series to get invested in as the weather gets colder. Next up is The Vampire Diaries, which follows Elena Gilbert as she encounters two vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore, in the mysterious town of Mystic Falls. With the show’s combination of suspense, romance and supernatural drama, it fits well with the atmosphere of October.

Of course, no fall streaming guide would be complete without mentioning Gilmore Girls. Often associated with autumn, the show follows the characters Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, mother and daughter, as they navigate family, friendships, school and relationships in the small town of Stars Hollow. Although many people have already watched this series, it can be enjoyed more than once. Rewatching makes it easier to catch references and jokes that may have gone unnoticed the first time. The show’s cozy setting, quick witty conversations and close community make it a great choice for anyone looking for a comforting show to revisit during the fall season.

Along with finding a new show to watch, October is also the perfect time to settle in for a spooky Halloween movie night. For those looking for something mysterious and maybe even a little creepy, Coraline is a great choice. The animated fantasy follows a young girl who discovers a secret door in her new home that leads to an alternate world that seems better than her own life at first. However, as she explores this world, she begins to discover that things are not as perfect as they seem. With its unique animation and eerie atmosphere, Coraline is a great option for anyone that is looking for a spooky movie that is different from a typical horror movie.

Another Halloween favorite that is worth revisiting is Hocus Pocus. The movie follows three sister witches who return to Salem after being accidentally brought back to life, causing chaos for the town. Its combination of comedy, magic and Halloween traditions make it a good choice for a movie night with friends and family. For those who have already seen the original, Hocus Pocus 2, offers another adventure with the Sanderson sisters. Whether you are watching the movies for the first time or returning to them as a part of your yearly Halloween traditions, they are a fun way to get into the spirit of the season.

For those who enjoy nostalgic Halloween movies, Halloweentown is another great choice. The 1998 Disney Channel Original Movie follows a young girl, Marnie Piper, who discovers that she comes from a family of witches and visits a town full of many supernatural creatures. With its colorful characters, magical setting, and lighthearted storyline, this movie brings back the feeling of watching Halloween movies as a kid. Even for those who have already seen it, revisiting this classic film can be a fun way to bring some nostalgia into the fall season.

Overall, fall is a great time to discover a new favorite show or revisit movies that have become part of the Halloween season. Whether you are binge watching a new dramatic series, rewatching Gilmore Girls for its cozy autumn atmosphere, or planning a spooky movie night, there are many ways to enjoy this fall season. So, the next time you are scrolling through channels on a cold fall evening, consider adding one of these recommendations to your watchlist.
