The Boys Varsity Soccer Team participates in Spirit Week by dressing up for Sponsor-A-Senior Day.

The Trumbull High School varsity boys soccer team is having an incredible year. The team, composed of 29 players, is currently 15-1 for the 2022-2023 season.

The three captains, Bruno Brasil (senior); Franco Miloanov (senior); and Jack Digiovanni (junior), “pushed the players to their limits, kept the team motivated, and helped them to focus on their drills and games”, Connor Hughes [10], said.

The boys work hard every day to honor their late Coach “Sebe”. Coach Sebastian Gangemi was the High School Boys Varsity Soccer Coach for twenty years at THS who led the team to four FCIAC titles. He passed away in 2019.

The team was undefeated until October 24, when they suffered their first loss. “This loss was a huge wake up call, it made us realize we’re not perfect”, said captain Bruno Brasil [12]. “Now we must work toward improving, not perfecting ourselves and to do this we must focus on our weaknesses”.

For many teams, this moment determines whether it is make or break, and this team is ready to keep fighting for the win.

Being united as a team is crucial for the boys, so “pasta parties are a must”, Kyle Helminger [11] said. “We all attend other Trumbull High events together (sports, games, spirit week, etc.)”.
