Fall is the perfect time to try out new recipes and make your home feel warm and cozy. During fall, people tend to lean towards pumpkin for the festive holiday season. Therefore, these are good recipes for you to try if you like pumpkin. You’ll want to make these again and again!
An essential recipe to try is pumpkin pie! This recipe takes an hour and thirty-five minutes total. Things you will need include: a 9-inch unbaked pie crust, ¾ cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon ground ginger, ¼ teaspoon ground cloves, 2 large eggs, 15 ounce canned pumpkin, 12 ounce can of evaporated milk.
First, preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, in a large bowl, beat the eggs and canned pumpkin together. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, salt, ginger, and cloves, and add that to the pumpkin mixture. Next, slowly stir in the evaporated milk. Then, pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust. Lastly, bake the pie at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. Then, lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. To tell when it’s done, gently shake the pie to see if the center moves a tiny bit, it will get thicker as it cools. Cool it on a wire cooling rack, and enjoy with some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream!
Another fall recipe to make is pumpkin squares! Ingredients you will need for the cake part of it: 4 eggs, 2 cups of sugar, 2 cups of canned pumpkin, ¾ cup of melted butter. Combine all of that in a medium bowl with a spoon. Next, you will need to sift 2 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Then you will add the sifted ingredients to the batter. Then, pour batter into a greased and floured jelly roll pan and bake on 325 degrees Fahrenheit until the toothpick comes out clean. For the frosting, ingredients include: 3 oz of softened cream cheese, 6 tablespoons of softened butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1 teaspoon of milk, 3 cups of confectioners sugar, and beat on low with the mixer until the frosting is thick. Once the cake is cooled, frost them and cut them into squares and enjoy!
