Now that October has come and gone, people are now already in the Christmas spirit! But slow down, we still have the whole month to get through till December! If you’re a fan of the fall season and want to make the most of it before it ends in just a couple weeks, this article will be the source of fall information you need.
Starting off with more basic things, there are many different events to choose from. If you’re looking for a more seasonal thing, Connecticut has many different local farms you could go to for things like apple picking and pumpkin picking, but hurry before the season ends!
A fan favorite would definitely be Jones’s Family Farms in Shelton, CT. They pretty much have it all! With a vast apple orchard you could pick your own apples from and/or their gorgeous Pumpkinseed Hill where you can choose from things like gourds or mini pumpkins. You can pick your own pumpkins from their very own patch, or pick up some from the pre – picked bunch.
After you pick your apples or pumpkins, there are endless amounts of recipes of pastries and baked goods that you could make and even though Halloween has passed, who said you still can’t carve any pumpkins?
Following this, another activity you could do is to go on a hike to look at the fall foliage! But for this one, you might want to hurry before all the leaves fall! All leaves fall at different times, some lasting more than others which means you can find an area/trail that still has some gorgeous colored leaves left.
Even if they do completely fall by the time you get to do this, go with some friends and get something like a coffee before taking in the beautiful sight of leaves on the ground, and breathing in the crisp fall air.
Other than nature, there are cafes and restaurants you can go to to try out the fall flavors, a personal favorite being Le Jardin Cafe in Wallingford. This spot provides pumpkin spice lattes served with whipped cream and in a mini pumpkin! Not only does this place have delicious food, but the scenery there is absolutely breathtaking.
Overall, while you might already be excited for Christmas time, you should take the time to soak up the last moments of fall this year while we have it.
