As the weather starts to get a little bit chillier, the need for a warm and maybe even eerie room comes with it! Halloween is approaching and the question everyone seems to have is “what should I use to decorate my house?”. There is really no precise answer to that, yet there are many options to choose from! This all depends on your view on Halloween and fall festivities. Below are many options to choose from that include room decor to fit you and your preferences.
You live for a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
If you are this type of person then that means you might like your bedroom to have comfy colors such as beige, brick red, salmon, and sage green. This type of person might enjoy fall things like a classic pumpkin spice latte or watching Gilmore Girls on a relaxing night. You might also like to add some subtle fall and halloween decorations without changing anything up too much. Some things that can be added to your room are a small plush pumpkin or a little fall throw blanket. These can be bought at stores like Target and Crate & Barrel. Another thing to add to your room would be a scented candle. This helps add an autumn feeling to your room while also making it smell great! A few popular fall scents include pumpkin spice, apple cider and cinnamon. While warm scents and subtle decorations set the mood, you can take it a step further by bringing the outdoors inside. Adding touches of natural decor captures the beauty of fall in an elegant and effortless way.
You love nature and natural decor.
To some, nature brings them a sense of peace and calmness. If you are one of these people then natural decor for the fall season is the perfect way to go. Some ways to go with this are adding pinecones and cinnamon sticks to a vase or sprinkling a few dried out leaves on a wooden tray with fake apples. You can also use seasonal flowers such as mums or sunflowers in your room. These small details will connect your space to nature and make it feel grounded without being overwhelming.
You love Halloween for its spooks and scares.
If this is the case then you will need a spooky room that will excite you for the month of October and specifically Halloween. There are several ways to decorate your space this way that can amuse (and maybe even frighten) anyone that walks into your home. One trendy and ageless thing to add to your room is string lights in the shape of ghosts, bats or pumpkins. This helps give your room the spooky feeling, yet maybe without any major scares. If this is your style then you can also add things such as painted pumpkins with spooky faces and plastic/ceramic skulls. Maybe this is still not extravagant enough for you, and if that is the case then you should add motion-activated decorations and coffin shaped props. These will certainly fright your guests while maybe even adding a jump scare in the package.
No matter what your fall style is, there is always something that you can do to make your space feel more festive, cozy, or spooky. You can do this by keeping it welcoming with soft textures and warm accents, adding natural touches from just outside your door, or choosing spooky decor to make your house feel like it’s the night of Halloween all month long.
