This year’s holiday menu officially came out at Starbucks this morning, featuring new drinks and food items that have sparked the attention of many people.
Drinks like the Sugar Cookie Latte, Iced Gingerbread Chai, Peppermint Mocha Hot Chocolate, and the Caramel Brulee Latte are some of the favorites returning this holiday season at Starbucks. New food items like the Cinnamon Pull-Apart, the Sugar Plum Cheese Danish, the Snowman Cookie, and the Polar Bear Cakepop are making an appearance this year.
“I really enjoy the Gingerbread Iced Chai Latte”, said sophomore Sarah Ayres. “I wait for it all year and I’m so happy that they brought it back”.
Sophomore Vanessa Zambrzycki, who was one of the few people I saw in the morning testing out the new menu, said that the Sugar Cookie Latte is one of her favorite drinks that comes out at this time of the year.
“I’m just really disappointed at them for discontinuing the cranberry refresher”, said Zambrzycki. “That was my go-to drink last year”.
Senior, Delia Fruin, had similar thoughts about the ‘Cran-Merry” refresher. “I miss it, even though lots of people didn’t enjoy the drink”, said Fruin. “I think they should have just left it on the menu –I waited a full year just for it to be discontinued”.
It’s not just THS students who are mad about Starbucks discontinuing the Cran-Merry Refresher; complaints can be found throughout social media and the internet. Many even think it will come out later on in the season just like the Apple Crisp Refresher, which came out later on in October this year.
Starbucks has a new collaboration: Hello Kitty! Hello Kitty has made it to Starbucks and during the holiday season they will be selling Hello Kitty cups and a stuffed animal of Hello Kitty wearing a barista apron.
Social media is raving over this pairing.
“I think it’s such a random collab for Starbucks to do”, says sophomore Hannah Dizney. “I would have never thought of that”.
Dizney continued to say how adorable it was, though, especially the plushy.
Starbucks traditional “Red Cup Day” will take place nationally on Thursday November 16. Any drink you order that day will come in a red reusable cup for the holiday season.
“It’s best to go early so they don’t run out”, warned Masuk senior Emma Maldonado. “But there’s still a chance you can get the cup late in the afternoon”.
Starbucks is generating excitement with their seasonal menu this year, enticing many with their new items this early in the season. For many, it’s the holiday spirit they’ve been waiting for all year round
