Monday: America Day
While Mondays are typically lethargic and drowsy, the school week began in high gear with a day celebrating our country. Full of patriotism, Trumbull High rocked the stars and stripes as they arrived decked out in red, white, and blue. Waving their American flags, the school united with their zealous spirit.
Tuesday: Tourist Tuesday
Look out, THS! Students and staff seemed to be ready for summer as they rummaged through their suitcases for vacation attire, transforming into tourists from all over the world. Countless eagles donned Hawaiian shirts, passports, cameras, and sunglasses. We were ready for a vacation!
Wednesday: Color Wars
Students from all grades competed in a massive struggle to overpower the school with their assigned grade color. Freshmen were decked out in white, while the sophomores represented their class with different hues of green.
Juniors showed up in blue, and seniors blacked out the other colors sporting, arguably, one of the most powerful colors in the world.
Teachers chose to accompany the students in their own battle with their outfits in a soft pink. The day not only showed spirited behavior, but it also empowered the idea of teamwork throughout the school.
Thursday: Sponsor a Senior
On Thursday, school spirit reached new heights as seniors and underclassmen worked together to stretch their creativity on the infamous “Sponsor a Senior Day.” With a small donation, students in grades nine through eleven were able to “sponsor” or their favorite senior so they would be able to dress in costume.
Mermaids swam through the commons, bulls raged down the hallways “charging” at those bearing the color red. Some students were even seen performing the roles of the characters in which they were dressed. Some groups dressed as Starbucks Coffee Cups, the HazMat team, and Energizer Bunnies.
By the end of the day, the entire THS population was ablaze with spirit.
Friday: Black and Gold Day
To sum up the week was a Pep Rally, which was held in the crowded THS gymnasium. However, it was all worth it as students enjoyed the quality entertainment and competition of the grades, cheerleaders, and sports teams. The most exciting part was the tug of war, in which the final round resulted in freshmen versus seniors. To the excitement of the audience, a stampede came pounding down the bleachers as students rushed to choose a side and help out. To end the week, a Spirit King and Queen was chosen: Seth Wittstein and Baily Lionetti.
