It is Feburary once again and you know what that means: Its Super Bowl predictions time! So grab your buffalo wings and see who we think will go all the way in the 57th edition of the Super Bowl, the third of Patrick Mahomes already illustrious career. We have the Chiefs, the battle tested veterans who are no stranger to postseason success and the Eagles who almost went undefeated and have seemingly come out of nowhere this season, led by head coach Nick Siriani and rising star QB Jalen Hurts looking for their second Super Bowl title.
This is also only the third time in the past 20 years both number 1 seeds have faced off so it is truly a battle of giants. Now the question is, will the Chiefs take care of business and get Patrick Mahomes his second ring, or will the Eagles pull off another Philly Special and win it all? Here’s what we think:
Isaac: I truly believe that it will be Kansas City who will be going all the way this year because of one man only. The man, the myth, the legend: Patrick Mahomes. Although it is still going to be an intense game, just not in the way you think. My prediction is that the game is going to be slow with neither team being able to hold on to a lead for a long time, until the 4th quarter where the Chiefs will score at the last second to win the Super Bowl 21-14, and send Mahomes to Disney World.
Due to the Chiefs’ offense– they have Isiah Pacheco, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Kadarius Toney, among others. Although both teams have a good offense, they also both have good defense, so I believe that the score will not rack up that much throughout the game. All in all, this year has the potential to be one of the greatest Super Bowls that we have seen in NFL history.
Jude: As for my prediction, I am also siding with the Chiefs as super bowl champions with a final score of 30 to 27. Why do I think this? Simple: never bet against Patrick Mahomes. Time and time again, Mahomes has pushed the boundaries of reality and expanded are minds to things we did not even know were possible.
With every no-look pass, with every touchdown pass out of a sack, Mahomes has continued to astonish more and more. I have counted him out in the past but I have learned my lesson and have stopped underestimating him.
However, while I do believe Mahomes and the Chiefs will pull through, the Eagles are without a doubt an incredibly dangerous opponent. With a fearsome defense headlined by players like Darius Slay, James Bradberry, and Hassan Reddick, this Eagles defense is simply not something we often see.
As good as this defense is, the offense is just as good if not better! With MVP canidate Jalen Hurts leading the way, the trio of him, A.J. Brown, and Devonta Smith is to be feared. The Eagles went out and got Brown in a blockbuster draft-day trade and are seeing a significant return on their investment.
There is no doubt the Eagles defense is better than the Chiefs, but with how good the Mahomes-run offense is, it is difficult to say whether or not they will truly be able to limit him. If the Eagles want any chance of winning they need to take a page out of the Buccaneers playbook where they did not allow a single touchdown to Mahomes in super bowl 55. Send endless rushers at him, force him to make a spectacular play over and over. That is the only way to slow Mahomes down. Will the Eagle be able to do that? I don’t think so, but I believe this will be one of the best Super Bowls we have seen in awhile, and whatever happens, I’ll be happy for both teams.
Isaac and Jude: Now with our predictions out of the way, all we simply have to do is wait, as the countdown until Super Bowl 57 ticks down. And once the Super Bowl arrives, let’s hope that Philadelphia won’t be in shambles once it’s over.
