To Our Neighbors in Newtown,
We are all affected by what happened and want your community to know that you are not alone. The chain that Trumbull High School students and staff made for you symbolizes how if we come together we grow stronger. We cannot even begin to understand what you are feeling, but we want your whole community to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Words can never describe the sorrow we feel. Tears are being shed throughout the nation, not just in Connecticut. It is through times of tremendous struggle that our nation is able to come together as one and emerge stronger. The perseverance, courage and strength of the community are what will define Newtown as a whole. The memories of the victims will be in our hearts forever. There are 27 new stars in the sky. Gone but never forgotten.

How amazing……
Glad that my class mates and I could participate in creating this memorial for the victims of the tragedy in Newtown. Our entire community have been stunned and saddened for our neighboring town and all the friends and families of the victims.
I’m proud that trumbull high was able to come together and support such an important cause that hits home for a lot of people.
Our class statement really represents how the people of Trumbull and Americans as a whole feel about this horrific tragedy. It was also very nice that Mr. McCaff organized the chain. Well done THS!
It was nice to see THS students coming together during this horrible time and doing all that we can for the families in Newtown.
This is a very well written statement that helps our neighbors in Newtown cope with such a tragic loss. This short letter addresses exactly what was needed, positive feel, rather than address the negatives about such a tragedy.
I think the fact that such a long chain of links was created shows how willing the THS community is to work together. After this horrible time, we all wanted to do something to express our feelings but we didn’t know what to do or how to respond. I think this was a good way to allow the students to put their feelings on paper and reach out to the Newtown community.
I thought it was really special how THS came together to help out our neighbors in such a tragedy. Seeing everyone wearing green and white on Monday showed Trumbull is really thinking of Newtown. The children of Sandy Hook will really enjoy the Links of Love.
As horrible of a tragedy this was, it’s comforting to see the community come together and support each other. Newtown being so close to us, it was great that Trumbull High could contribute in some ways such as the links of love, making snowflakes, and etc. The letter is also a greats personal way to show how much we care and feel for our neighbors in Newtown.
So honored to be a part of something like this. I will never forget the victims of SHES. Words can never describe how we feel for them but we are doing what we can. Hopefully this letter gives them even the slightest feeling of some comfort. RIP
I’m glad that ths was able to come together to do something for Newtown. They deserve all the support we can give
It was nice to see the whole school come together for a good cause and such a tragic day. I am happy that my classmates and I participated in this letter.
I think I can speak for all of us when I say that I was horrified and distraught over what happened. I’ll always think about it. But with this memorial, I can think about all the good that came out of this tragedy. It really is remarkable to see how well a community can work together in a time like this to produce some good.
I am very happy to see this article up on the web, especially when i know that our Journalism class participated in writing it together to show our support for Newtown`s victims
When writing a piece of this chain it brought tears to my eyes. I could never imagine what these people were going through and I wanted to try my best to give words of encouragement. Seeing the chain hang in the halls of Trumbull High made me realize that we are all coming together during this tragedy, and there are people to lean on.
