Trumbull High School has several amenities. We have a state-of-the-art auditorium, an automotive shop, and even a commercial kitchen for Culinary classes! We also have an area that is not as well known: the television studio. Our A/V club ended several years ago, leaving a space with so much potential empty. The TCTV Television Studio has been vacant for several years, until now.
A group of students got together to start a new A/V club: Soaring Eagle Studios (SES). SES will include Friday morning school news broadcasts, interviews, and podcasts. SES will bring Trumbull High School “from the hallways to the headlines”.
SES is great for students who are interested in broadcasting and journalism. If you don’t like to be on TV, we have many positions for students who are interested in working backstage at a television show. The positions include, but are not limited to, camera operators, sound technicians, and control board operators. In Soaring Eagle Studios, there is something for everyone.
There are three main sections of Soaring Eagle Studios. Eagle News Network is a program that will be broadcasted live from the TCTV Television Studio for students and faculty to watch. On ENN, students will broadcast live morning announcements on Friday mornings, which will include school news. Think of it as your favorite morning talk show that you can enjoy at school!
We also have Aspire 2 Inspire. This is our interview sector of SES. Students will interview athletes, teachers, administrators, and anyone who they feel will bring a positive message to our school. Athletes will discuss their performance at games and teachers will discuss classroom stories and/or anything else they would like to promote. We hope to interview people beyond school employees that students can also look up to.
In addition to these sectors, we will also have podcasts. These will be hosted by students, and will have a variety of content. These will include comedy shows, mukbangs, interviews with people, advice, and more! We have a variety of ideas for podcasts, so we are sure that there will be a podcast to meet almost everybody’s interests.
We hope that Soaring Eagle Studios becomes your next source to receive school news and entertainment. We meet every Thursday after school, so if you have an interest in broadcasting or working backstage at a television show, we would be happy to welcome you!
