As the 2024 Trumbull High School Football Team winds down their season, they currently stand 5-3 on the year. Their 4-1 FCIAC record puts them 3rd in the league. With wins over Danbury, Ridgefield, McMahon, Stamford, and Westhill, they are still currently playoff eligible with 2 games remaining. The most recent win being over Westhill 47-0. The Eagles this season have played better on the road with being 3-1 compared to a 2-2 record at home.
This year’s football team has many standouts, but one in particular rose up. Braydon Blank the junior running back has taken the backfield by storm and has put up big numbers for this team. Currently Blank has 39 carries for 288 yards with 3 touchdowns as well. In the victory vs McMahon back on October 28th, Blank broke free and rushed for an 85 yard touchdown which erupted the crowd. This season Blank has rushed for over 100 yards once but still provides heavy additions on offense throughout the games.
Another standout on this roster is another junior running back in Jaden Tuhaise. In the backfield with Blank, Tuhaise has seen more carries with 46 and 269 yards. He has also racked up 2 touchdowns on the year. Tuhaise also sees snaps on defense as well and on the season has 12 solo tackles along with 9 assisted.
Blank has gone through some setbacks in his high school football career so far. Last season as a sophomore he partially tore his ACL vs Warde on October 14th. Blank pushed through and worked in the off-season to come back full strength and get better. He put on muscle and grew a couple inches to around 5’11. Blank looks to achieve 500 yards as the season comes to an end and help the Eagles even more on offense.
The Eagles look to keep doing their thing as the season concludes and make that playoff push. Two games remaining and it could come down to the wire. Go Eagles!
