Americans across the country waited anxiously for the reveal of NBC’s The Voice season three winner. Finalists Cassadee Pope, Terry McDermott and Nicholas David had a short amount of time to prove that they had what it took to be named The Voice. Coaches Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton dedicated themselves to help their teams prevail, but only one artist could go home with the win.

Each coach started off with a team of 12 artists. Then the battle rounds commence, sending artists home each week. During the first few rounds, the coaches were faced with the difficult decision of which vocalist to send home. However, during the final rounds, it is up to America to vote and save their favorite artists.

“I vote every Monday night for Cassadee Pope,” said THS graduate Hannah Cerone when discussing the process. “I try to get my friends to vote too because she is my favorite artist on the show and I don’t want her to get eliminated.”

Fans voted Monday nights after the show and the results were revealed the following night on Tuesday. The pressure was high as Pope, McDermott, and David tried to win over America’s heart.

“I am so happy that you were able to get me to this point. I just hope that you can get me even further because I want to win this for you guys,” said Pope in a recent interview. With all three finalists topping the iTunes charts, the coaches were extremely proud of their team members, and their improvement since the blind auditions.

During the most recent elimination round between Nicholas David and Trevin Hunte, coach Adam Levine said “This determines nothing for your future- I don’t think. I think that you are both very special and both very different… I am so happy to have discovered you over the course of this show.”

Who was crowned The Voice? On Tuesday, December 18th at 8 p.m. Cassadee Pope earned The Voice title while Terry McDermott was runner up.
