If you are an active member of twitter, you are well aware that Tuesday night at 8 is #PLL time. You scroll through your timeline of excited girls sharing their emotions throughout the show. So what is all this fuss about? And what most viewers want to know is…who is A?!
It is likely that everyone reading this article has at least heard of Pretty Little Liars. Whether you have read the best selling books, seen an episode of the hit TV show, or just witnessed the reoccurring trending topics on twitter, it has become a worldwide sensation. When Sarah Shephard wrote the series back in 2006, she had no idea her creation would make it this far. Some of those who follow the show and have read the books do not believe the show compares to the well-written, impossible to put down books. Holly Hoffman, a Trumbull High School senior who had read all the books states, “I watched the show for the first season and then had to stop. The book series was amazing and the show was completely different. Yeah, it was good, but after reading the books I had higher expectations.”
Nevertheless, Pretty Little Liars has people hooked. Fans anticipate the riveting new episodes each Tuesday night on ABC Family. The show centers around a group of four high school girls, whose best friend Allison went missing and was later found murdered. Since her disappearance, the girls have been harassed by a mysterious “A” who they believe to be Ali’s killer. Throughout the show, the girls work together to try to find out who this person is, and essentially solve the mystery of Allison’s death. Just when you think you’ve cracked the case, the show takes an unexpected turn, always keeping you guessing about the mysterious “A.” Fans have all different opinions about who it may be, and part of the fun is sharing theories with other fans and trying to figure it all out. The episodes typically end with cliffhangers, leaving viewers eagerly awaiting next week’s show. This past season finale, you may recall seeing tweets like “OMG NOOOO” or “I NEVER SAW THAT COMING!!!” as a character who was believed to be loyal to the group of girls turned out to be involved with “A.” Now, all viewers anxiously await the return of Pretty Little Liars in October, to find out how this character is involved and why. In the meantime, feelings on the shocking season finale are discussed and guesses are made about what is to come. It is impossible not to become hooked on this TV show. Viewers are immediately drawn to the characters, the relationships and most of all, the drama and suspense. Brian Giblin, 18, admits, “I began watching the show with my girlfriend because she’s into it, and I hate to admit it but I’m as eager to figure it all out as she is.”
It’s not too late to start watching this amazing show! Tune in for the new season premiere this October and you can participate in the Pretty Little Liars craze present on all social networking systems.
Every season that I have watched of Pretty Little Liars, I become more and more hooked to the show and every Tuesday I have to watch the show before I go to bed or else I don’t feel the same the next day. Every episode leaves a hook at the end and makes you wanna watch the next one but you have to wait a whole entire week. So I suggest that if you haven’t started watching this series then your missing out and should definitely start watching it now! This will end up being the best series you have watched so far…
I disagree, the best series that I”ve watched so far is Vampire Diaries. However, Pretty Little Diaries does comes close. I’m also hooked on the show because I am just so eager to know who A is. I doubt they will ever tell us, because then there would be no point to the show, but I still guess and predict with my friends who it might be!
I have always watched this show. I used to be very interested, however, now I feel like the show is sort of dragging on. I’d just like to know how everything comes together and how it ends.
Same! It’s not worth watching for five more seasons since it’s just getting more and more ridiculous.
I never really got into the show, the books were much better!
I absolutely LOVE Pretty Little Liars…without it my Monday nights would be nothing but homework and stress. PLL gives me a break from the real world and always leaves me wanting more. Totally recommend it’s a must watch. 🙂
Yeah I agree. They are dragging it out way too much and the acting is horrible. I never read the books but a lot of people said they were much better.
So excited for next Mondays Halloween edition!
The episode this Tuesday was so good! The plot keeps twisting so I really have no idea who is involved with the killing of Allison at this point. I’m a little upset that it doesn’t come back on until January 8th, I don’t know if I can wait that long!
I used to watch pretty little liars when it first started, but because I read all of the books I found it hard to keep up with the TV series once they began making new characters and new additions in the show that were not mentioned in the stories. While I don’t watch the show anymore, I am still disappointed they veered away from the original plot line.
After watching Pretty Little Liars for several seasons, I have become less interested. In the beginning, it was very suspenseful and kept me on my toes wanting to find out who “A” is. However, over the seasons, the plot has become a bore and the acting has become worse and worse.
Although I like watching Pretty Little Liars, I do believe that the show adds unnecessary information. Many times while I am watching the show I just get bored because there are no plot twists until the very end, and then you have to wait a whole other week to see what happens. I have yet to see the halloween episode, and I hope when I watch it I will be drawn in and impressed.
I read the books and I watched the show for the first season. I wish the show was more similar to the books because the books are more suspenseful and interesting than the show is.
i totally disagree , I think that the series is way better then reading the book because it there’s alot of action going on and i think that reading a action book is not the same as watching an interesting series . And some people like myself would find reading action books boring and find the series more higher in quality .
