Friday, October 12th marked the first date of All Time Low’s “Rock Show at the End of the World” Tour. The Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey held a three thousand people for the event. In attendance were special guests: Hit The Lights, The Downtown Fiction, and The Early November. Collectively these bands performed a three and a half hour opening act. It was the kickoff to what looks to be an amazing tour.
All Time Low offered a meet and greet to a limited number of fans prior to the show. These fans gained access to the venue about an hour before the show began. All Time Low’s manager, Matt Flyzik, explained that this meet and greet would be a bit unique. The fans were placed in a room with the band, and they were free to take pictures, sign autographs, and converse for about twenty minutes.
After the meet and greet ended, the general admission ticket holders were granted access to the venue. At 7:00, Hit The Lights took the stage, followed by The Downtown Fiction, and The Early November. All Time Low began their set at 10:00 pm. They opened with an energized performance of “The Reckless and the Brave.” They then launched into “Shameless,” from their 2007 album, So Wrong It’s Right. Jack Barakat announced that they would be playing twenty songs that evening, making for a two hour set. After playing a few songs from their album, Dirty Work, the band performed a well-known song off of one of their earliest EPs, Put Up Or Shut Up. This song is Titled “Coffee Shop Soundtrack.” The crowd appreciated this classic track, and screamed along to every word.
This venue was the first to hear a few of the songs off of All Time Low’s new album, Don’t Panic. The band played “Somewhere In Neverland” and “If These Sheets Were States,” which thrilled the already exhilarated crowd. The entire show was filled with energy, however the most energized song had to be “Weightless,” off of their 2009 album, Nothing Personal. The chorus of “Maybe it’s not my weekend, but it’s gonna be my year” is always a crowd pleaser. The audience was brought to a frenzy of exhilaration.
“Dear Maria, Count Me In” closed the show and All Time Low was able to leave the Starland Ballroom on a very high note. All Time Low will be coming to The Webster Theater in Hartford on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the show begins at 7:00 pm.
