One Direction, Deal or no Deal girls, Nicki Minaj, Winnie the Pooh, and Olympic gymnasts were all walking the halls of THS on Wednesday, November 7th showing their school spirit and taking part in Sponsor a Senior Day. Sponsor a Senior Day is part of Spirit Week at THS, which also included black and gold day, along with class wear day.
Sponsor a Senior Day was a fun day when seniors could dress up as anything they wanted, but Sponsor a Senior Day also came with a set of rules. Students were not allowed to wear face masks or face paint for security reasons. Those that violated these rules were asked to take off the mask or wash off the paint.
Students could be a celebrity, a movie character, a video game character, a singer, or something else. It was also a day that united the whole school because freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors got involved. Underclassmen were able to rent a senior who dressed up and then walked their underclassmen to his or her respective classes throughout the whole day.
For the small percentage of seniors who did not participate, some felt a bit left out. Kamal Shaham said, “Man, I wish I participated in Rent a Senior Day. Literally, everyone in most of my classes dressed up except me. I was the one taking the class picture because I was the only one not in it.”
Sponsor a Senior Day was filled with fun, excitement, and surprises for all students!

Really good summary that kept the authors voice without clouding the article. Nice photos!
I like the fact that any outsider would know what rent a senior was at Trumbull High just with the summary the article gave. The author gave a source from Trumbull High and also had a really good voice throughout the article that put it to the next level. And love the picture by the way.
Really interesting article! It is definitely relatable to all students, as Rent a Senior is one of the most exciting days of the year at THS!
I really like the slide show of photographs at the bottom; it’s very appealing and grabs the readers attention. Good article
I like how you included a good explanation of what sponsor a senior day was and there were only some minor grammatical errors that I noticed. Other than that, a good article overall with a nice array of photos.
I thought the writer gave just enough background on this THS event to make readers from outside the school aware of what sponsor a senior day was without being repetitive. I also enjoyed the catchy beginning and I thought the article length was appropriate since it kept my interest the whole time without boring me or so long that I became uninterested. I also thought the multiple photos provided gave more examples to what was mentioned in the article and will definitely draw more people to reading this particular article. Nice work!
As most people who commented mentioned, I thought the writer did a good job providing just enough information to readers that some one who does not attend THS could understand exactly what sponsor a senior was all about. The slide show including pictures from the day was a great idea! Great pictures!
