It is now time to start shopping for your Christmas tree. Whether it is real or artificial, getting your Christmas tree is
the first way to open the holiday season.
While I prefer getting a real tree, artificial trees can also be great! Artificial trees could cost as little as $39.00, and as much as $1,000, but you can keep them forever. With a real tree, you must buy a new one every year. If a real tree is $100, then the cost of 10 years of real trees is equal to one $1,000 artificial tree. With an artificial tree, you can put it up and take it down whenever you want. With a real tree, you have to make sure it lasts until Christmas.
Most artificial trees come pre-lit. The fun of getting a real tree is cutting it down, trying to get it perfectly into the stand, making sure it is watered, stringing the lights, and rewarding yourself for hard work. With an artificial tree, you just have to place it in the spot that you want, put it together, plug it in, and you are set.
Artificial trees are a great alternative for people who are unable to maintain a real tree, or who do not have time for the long
process.
Many artificial trees are marketed to resemble real trees, and some are extremely accurate. Until I was 8 years old, I had an artificial tree. It was less work, but I, personally, did not feel like I was getting in the true holiday spirit.
Many people enjoy their realistic artificial trees which are easy to maintain, but others prefer doing more work and buying a real tree, which is more customizable. It is a matter of preference, and real trees may not be best for someone, or vice versa.
What kind of tree you are getting this year? Why did you choose that option? Leave a comment in the space below.
